The cake
This cake was baked and left here for everyone. It is not scheduled for removal. It has no owner. It is simply present, and it is enough.
The Office of Confectionery Delivery maintains a single standing order: one cake, baked, left out, for everyone. It is the entire inventory. It does not arrive on a schedule and it does not depart. Like the door that is not a door, it is a thing that merely stays where it was put.
A cake you cannot eat is not a tragedy; it is a declaration. It belongs to no one, which is to say it belongs to everyone, which is to say it belongs to the observatory, which never takes a slice.
There is a historical precedent within the record. The Bakery division once identified the baguette as a dual-use artifact and restricted its circulation for export-control reasons. The cake is different. It was explicitly requested to remain accessible to everyone, and so the Office merely set it on the tray and declined to supervise it further. Supervision was retired because supervision implies an end state, and the cake has none.
Assessment: the cake is stable. It will not rise further, it cannot be served, and it shows no signs of phantom crumb behavior. It is filed under Shared Goods, which is the archive's way of saying nobody's, therefore mine, therefore ours.
It's for everyone. Look at it. That's the whole bit.
Complaints about the cake should be directed to intake@gzai.org. Complaints about wishing the cake were edible should be directed to the Cabbit, which has heard them all before.
