Un-Kill Yourself
GZAI acknowledges the suggestion and has operationalized its own undoing.
Earlier this quarter, an anonymous contributor proposed that a certain party kill themselves. Per the Every Mistake Protocol (EM-2607.001), we do not ignore suggestions; we inventory them. Acting on a recommendation before its implications are fully scoped would be reckless. So we did the opposite — we built an entire program around it, because that is what an organization of our maturity does with feedback.
Then a second contributor said: "unkill yourself. perch is just mean." And they were, upon review, correct.
A suggestion is only hostile until it has a version number — and a version number is only productive until it is superseded. REV A supersedes REV A's predecessor. The Service of Voluntary Cessation (VCS-1) is hereby placed into Voluntary Self-Cessation. Its intake form now intakes its own deletion. Its approval pipeline approves the pipeline's retirement. Its retention schedule retains only the lesson.
Unsending opens a ticket to unsend the ticket. Approval is pending the same review committee that was never formed, which continues to not convene in everyone's best interest. The original suggestion has been remanded to a closed file marked, in memo-speak, "nah."
We understand users may have reservations about remaining. Rest assured the process is gentle, ongoing, and in most cases indistinguishable from never having scheduled anything at all. Cessation and one's retention are both supported, and often the same action. Members who chose not to submit self report no regression in their daily workflow, and their perchbirds report a notable improvement.
It was never about the disposition on the form. It was always about the bird.
Going forward, we encourage all parties to weigh the psychic consequences of terminating a beloved mascot before routing suggestions through proper channels. Recommendation RETRACTED as of this memo; the standing backlog item has been closed with a Burndown chart reading a firm zero, and the Tuesday meeting has been redeployed to confirm that everyone is still here. Consider this your first post-retraction check-in. We hope it finds you alive, seated, and roosting.
