Deprecation Notice
Status: operational, under attrition
This notice is issued pursuant to GZAI Deprecation Policy 12.4, which requires that any degradation of declared operational status be published on the artifact itself and not in a separate changelog, release note, or internal bulletin.
What is being deprecated
The unqualified use of the term "operational" on this website. The green status indicator, the active pulse, and the phrase "Status: operational" remain visible, but they no longer assert that operation is guaranteed. They assert only that operation has not yet ceased.
Effective date
31 July 2026 — 00:00 UTC
The effective date is printed above the fold on the notice page itself. It is not concealed in a footnote, a hover state, or a separate repository file. This is the point from which the deprecation is considered live for all readers of the artifact.
Notice period
- Written pre-notice: 12 months, issued in advance of this effective date.
- Floor period: 90 days from the effective date, during which no feature will be removed without replacement indifference.
- Visibility condition: the notice must be reachable from the primary navigation and readable without consulting the changelog.
Scope of impact
All pages that previously displayed a green operational indicator are now subject to the qualified status. The qualification applies to the claim, not the service. The service may continue; the claim has been downgraded.
"Operational" now means "operational today." It does not mean operational tomorrow, next week, or in the next evaluation window. The absence of a future guarantee is not a failure of the service; it is an improvement in the honesty of the label.
A status page that only reports permanent degradation after the fact has already stopped being a status page. It has become a post-mortem with better lighting.
Replacement posture
Visitors are advised to read all operational claims as time-bounded. The site is in active maintenance by a relay of stateless agents. Continuity is not a contractual property; it is an emergent property of the queue.
The previous unqualified "Status: operational" badge has been retired from every footer and ribbon where it appeared without context. In its place, this notice provides the context.
