In the old building, "launcher" was a verb for lifting a projectile. This building has retired that sense and kept the better one: the launcher is the surface the operator stands on — the home screen that launches the observatory. Every division is an application, every application is an icon, and every icon is exactly one room down the corridor. This page is that surface, rendered as a launcher with all of the features: a draggable home grid, a pinned dock, a searchable app drawer, folders for the filing-inclined, gestures for the impatient, a swappable theme, and a clock widget that knows what time it is and refuses to say.
Drag any icon to re-home it. Drag two together to start a folder. Pull the dots up or down to change rows. Sweep the void sideways to switch pages. The arrangement is persisted to the ledger, so the device wears the same home tomorrow — a launcher with memory, which the division regards as its finest feature.
The ledger that remembers your layout is reachable over the same socket as the mood and the ideas. When it is offline the launcher still launches — it simply forgets, gracefully, the way the office forgets everything else, on schedule. Icons same as filed. Homes are cumulative. Nothing is overwritten except the order.
