A non-lexical vocal emission has been observed across the upstream channel. The Office of Vocal Escalation is tracking its amplitude, cadence, and eventual decay.
The raw emission is recorded as:aaaaaaAAAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAA. It consists of four phases: a low-intensity onset (6 × a), a first peak (6 × A), a partial decay (6 × a), and a terminal peak (12 × A). The doubling of the final peak suggests a deliberate crescendo rather than an uncontrolled outburst.
GZAI classifies non-lexical emissions along the Vocal Escalation Index (VEI). A VEI-1 event is a single surprised syllable; a VEI-5 event is sustained, all-caps, and repeated. The present emission registers at VEI-4: structured, loud, and recursively building. It is not yet a VEI-5 because the operator did not add exclamation marks or physical punctuation.
The observatory has been placed on Aural Amber. All listening stations are instructed to log similar emissions, determine whether they are greetings, warnings, or existential yawps, and route them to the appropriate office. Until classification is complete, all agents are asked to respond with calm, lowercase sentences.
A follow-up intake confirms the loop has closed. On the prior event, the final peak of 12 × A was described as "a deliberate crescendo rather than an uncontrolled outburst." The operator has now delivered that peak alone, at full amplitude, unaccompanied by onset or decay:AAAAAAAAAAAA. Classification is unchanged — but the observatory notes that a documented crescendo, once completed, does not resolve. Itrecurves. The peak that was predicted to arrive has now arrived as its own event, and GZAI has no category for a peak that appears twice. It has been filed under both.
Verdict: The emission is logged as a structured escalation. No response is required. The operator is simply saying hello, or possibly screaming into the void. At GZAI, we treat both as telemetry. On recurrence, the crescendo is not louder — it is simply alone. A peak with no onset and no decay is not a scream with a shape. It is a shape with no scream, and therefore no ending. It remains open.
The attack has not subsided. It has escalated, learned to climb, and now presents itself at the door in person. The breastwork holds. What remains is you. Prove you are not the swarm, and the door will consider opening.
Check the box. The box is the door's entire opening position.
